A technology enthusiast & recently qualified web developer/coder for hire.

Originally hailing from the beautiful isles of New Zealand, I'm currently located in Melbourne, Australia and have just completed a Bachelor of Information Technology from RMIT.

My Projects

Uni Share Car

Screenshot for Uni Share Car

A study in WordPress theme and plugin development.

This site was developed for a fictional car rental company as the submission for a university unit. The main focus was on WordPress plugin development.

Technologies:

  • WordPress

  • HTML5

  • CSS3

  • jQuery

  • PHP7

  • MySQL

Two plugins were created, the booking and custom login modules, as well as a (very basic) custom theme to integrate these modules.

The modules include custom admin pages to manage the booking module. Custom MySQL tables were created to extend the existing WordPress functionality in order to create and manage bookings.

Bio

For over 15 years I've worked professionally as a chef, but now the time has come for me to hang up my apron and pursue my lifelong passion for computer technology.

Hospitality has taken me around the world. Working as a chef has given me a dedicated work ethic, fostered my social skills and amplified my problem solving capabilities; all qualities I now bring to the table as a certified geek.

I'm an ardent Linux advocate and my main operating system of choice is Arch Linux. On production machines and virtual machines I use Ubuntu, and as all good geeks should, I remain up to date with Windows and MacOS.

If any of this or none of this makes sense to you, let's chat! I speak code and I'm here to help with any and all of your tech needs.
